The Elixore range is perfectly inert, colorless, and odorless aliphatic diluents dedicated liquid-liquid metal extraction processes. They are used as a diluent in the composition of the organic phase required for the Solvent Extraction (SX) process of metals (copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, uranium, rare-earth metals, etc.).
TotalEnergies Ecosolution Advantages
- Thanks to TotalEnergies Fluids’ patented HDA catalytic hydrogenation process at Oudalle, France and Bayport, US plants, the Elixore range not only meets but goes beyond the strict regulatory environmental requirements.
- The aromatic content of Elixore is very low and sometimes non-existent (well below the regulations). The PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) << 1 ppm while BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene) < 1ppm.
- Elixore is Readily Biodegradable, with an extremely limited eco-toxicological impact on the environment (≥ 60% according to OECD 301A-F/ASTM D7373 tests within 28 days)
The Environmental Performance
- Ecotoxicological risks reduced by: 18,000 compared to diesel cuts
-
Toxicity markers concentration decrease by: 46,000 compared to diesel cuts
